Made by removing the alcohol from the full-strength beer rather than by brewing a separate low-gravity one, which is why it retains more of the original hop character than most alcohol-free beer manages.
At 0.5% ABV it meets the United Kingdom’s de-alcoholised descriptor rather than the stricter alcohol-free one, which is set at 0.05%. That distinction is a British peculiarity — most of Europe permits alcohol-free at 0.5% — and it is the sort of thing a label will not explain.
