What BeerHQ is offered as, and what it is not.
Who offers it
BeerHQ is operated by HEKNO Ltd. HEKNO Ltd is registered in Scotland under company number SC895711. Registered office: Borthwick Farm Cottage, Gorebridge, EH23 4QZ, United Kingdom. It is a brand rather than a separate company, so the HEKNO terms of use apply to it; what follows is the part specific to a site about alcoholic drinks.
These terms and related non-contractual obligations are governed by Scots law. Subject to mandatory rights available to consumers in their place of residence, Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
Scots law rather than English law. Worth stating plainly, because the two are different systems and a generic British template would name the wrong one.
What BeerHQ is offered as
General information about beer, for people aged 18 and over. It is written carefully and audited, and it will still contain errors and statements that were true when they were checked and are not now. It is not professional advice of any kind — not medical, not legal, not regulatory — and it should not be relied on as the basis for a decision where being wrong matters.
Where BeerHQ states an alcohol labelling threshold, a purchase age or any other regulated figure, it names the jurisdiction and the date it was checked. Those figures change. The authoritative version is the current rule in your own country and the label on the product in front of you, not this site.
What BeerHQ will not do
Some questions are refused as a matter of policy rather than capability: how to become intoxicated, how much can be drunk before driving, and whether someone is currently fit to drive. These are enforced in code across every route, including search and the calculators. Alcohol information sets out the full list and the reasoning.
Using what is here
Reading, linking to and quoting BeerHQ with attribution is welcome. Reproducing it wholesale, or using it as training or ingestion material for a competing reference, is not.
Brewery names, beer names and trade marks mentioned belong to their owners. BeerHQ describes their products for reference; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, and nothing here is a paid placement.
