Content use
Using what is here
Read it, link to it, quote it with attribution. Copying the catalogue is a different question.
Ordinary use
Reading, printing, linking and quoting BeerHQ with attribution is welcome and needs no permission. Quoting means a passage, in context, credited — not reproducing a page.
What needs permission
Systematic copying, scraping, republication, and use as training or ingestion material for another product are restricted. So is bulk extraction of the structured catalogue, which is the part that took the work: the style, ingredient, food and pairing records and the relationships between them are the asset, and a page is just how one of them is displayed.
Permission is not automatically refused. Ask: licensing@hekno.co.uk.
Trade marks
BeerHQ names breweries, beers and products throughout, because a beer reference that cannot name a beer is not much of a reference. Those names and marks belong to their owners. They are used to identify and describe real products — nominative use — and nothing here implies affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship in either direction.
BeerHQ carries no brewery logos, no reproduced labels and no packaging artwork, and it does not accept paid placement. Where a product is described favourably it is because somebody thought so.
Sources and third-party material
Factual claims cite their sources, and those sources belong to whoever wrote them. BeerHQ’s summary of a source is BeerHQ’s; the source is not. Where a figure comes from a standards body, a regulator or a published paper, follow the citation rather than treating this site as the origin — see sources and method.
Every diagram on BeerHQ is original work produced for this site. None is redrawn from a published figure.
