Liquor
Brewing water. In British brewery usage, water intended to go into beer is liquor; water for cleaning is water.
Trade usage. Established by practice in the trade rather than by any formal definition.
Commonly misunderstood
Nothing to do with spirits. A brewer asking about liquor treatment is asking about water chemistry.
