EBU
European Bitterness Units: the European Brewery Convention’s bitterness measure, numerically close to IBU but determined by a slightly different method.
Also called european bitterness unit, european bitterness units.
EBU and IBU agree closely for most beer and are used interchangeably in commercial practice. They can diverge modestly in beers with high levels of non-isomerised hop material, because the two methods extract and measure somewhat differently.
