Mash with the full brew-length of water and skip rinsing entirely, accepting lower efficiency in exchange for a short brew day and effectively no astringency risk.
What is actually happening
Because no rinse happens, the runnings never reach the low-gravity, higher-pH condition in which tannin extraction accelerates. The trade is that the sugar retained in the grain is simply lost.
